Emei Qigong

“Grandmaster Foo has made very significant contributions to the art of Qigong. He is renown in China for being one of the first masters to teach Qigong to over 2 million students . Due to his success in the Martial Arts and Chinese Medical Healing Sciences, Master Foo was chosen to undergo a training with Ju Zan who was The Supreme Abbot of All Chinese Buddhism at the time. He was also the 12th Lineage Holder of the Emei Linji Zen Qigong sect. His Emei Linji system was for warrior monks studying Buddhism and advanced internal strengthening arts. Master Foo underwent an intense selection process for one year and was determined the best pupil for taking the responsibility of being the future Grandmaster of the lineage. Grandmaster Foo was the only layman (non-monk) asked to stay and receive the complete transmission, which took 8 years.”

Some of the Benefits are:

1. Improves the functions of the Nervous System and Cultivates Mental Potential: Nerve cells in deep layers of the brain release more bio energy during Emei Qi Gong practice.

2. Improves the functions of the Circulatory System

3. Improves the functions of the Respiratory System: - The use of oxygen by the body decreases - while the ability to absorb oxygen increases. The ancient Qigong masters did not need as much oxygen and thrived in low-level oxygen environments - such as the high mountain golden summit monastery on Emei Mountain. The functional power of the lungs becomes enhanced.

4. Improving the Function of the Endocrine System: *The overall health of a person is often closely related to their hormone levels. Qigong can significantly improve endocrine function. It often helps women with Menopausal symptoms. The cessation of hot flashes is a result of microcirculation of blood to the glands and ducts of the body. There is a lot to be said for hormonal balance. Qigong has definitely been shown to increase Yang Qi and therefore the many functions of the endocrine system.

5. Improving skeletal and muscular systems: Practicing the Emei Qigong exercises helps maintain a strong skeleton. Emei Qigong also maintains a state of flexibility and muscular strength. It is has been observed that many Qigong Masters remain agile and flexible into old age. Arthritis can also be greatly diminished with practice due to the regulation of the natural hormones.

6. Improving the Immune function of the body.

The system of Qigong learned from Grandmaster Foo WeiZhong the 13th Lineage Head is what we teach here at Emei Acupuncture Healing. It is effective, simple and simply put it works. All people can gain beneficial effects from practicing. Anyone who puts in the effort will get more than his or her share. There are many levels of benefits. The most obvious are the health benefits, which come about as the Qi/Energy potential of the body increases. April 2004 Grandmaster Foo Returns to New York .
